Azertelecom and Kazakhtelecom signed a memorandum of strategic partnership on Trans -Caspian project

as part of the annual International Technological Forum, Digital Bridge, held in the city of Astana, leading telecommunication companies of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan – Azertelecom and Kazakhtelecom signed a memorandum of strategic partnership for the project of laying the fiber -optic communication line on the bottom of the Caspian Sea.

The parties are sure that the document will serve as an incentive for further cooperation in the field of development of the digital infrastructure of both countries, will contribute to the increase in new market capabilities in terms of accessibility and increase the capacity of networks in both states.

The document provides for the strategic partnership of two operators as part of the Transcaspian fiber -optic communication line (VOLS) on the Azerbaijan -Kazakhstan route, which is part of the large -scale project “Digital Silk Way”, which provides for the creation of a digital telecommunications corridor between Europe and Aszia through Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Representatives of telecom operators expressed interest in the further development of bilateral business to provide international power services, the possibility of stimulating bilateral cooperation on the further development of digital transformation and digital infrastructure of both countries.
