Baku and Bucharest discussed cooperation issues

Over the past period, more than 60 documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and Romania aimed at developing cooperation, relations between the two countries, based on strategic partnership, are expanding every year.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Labor, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Co-Chairman of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Relations and Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Romania Sahil Babayev said this at a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania in Azerbaijan by Dan Iancu.

The Minister noted that the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev liberated our territories from the Armenian occupation, and large-scale construction work has already begun to restore the infrastructure of cities and villages destroyed by Armenia.

S. Babaev stressed the importance of developing international relations, cooperation with the EU countries, including Romania. According to him, the mutual visits of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Romania and the signed cooperation documents created conditions for the development of relations between the two countries. Today, being an important and reliable partner of Europe, Azerbaijan, which in the past diversified its energy export routes, also contributes to the energy security of Europe.

Minister Babayev noted that Romanian companies are successfully operating in Azerbaijan in the fields of transport, agriculture, education, tourism, culture, science and technology.

In turn, Ambassador D. Iancu noted that Romania attaches particular importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan, and during his diplomatic activities in our country, the Ambassador is constantly increasing efforts in this direction. The ambassador also expressed satisfaction with the level of strategic partnership between the two countries.

The parties noted the importance of the activities of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Relations and Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Romania in expanding relations between the two countries. They exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of these relations, as well as on the holding of the next meeting of the Joint Commission.
