The Chairman of Milli Majlis Sahib Gafarov met today with a delegation under the leadership of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Assad Kaiser, located in Azerbaijan on an official visit.
According to HAQQIN.AZ in the department of public relations and press of Milli Majlis, at first there was a meeting of the chairmen of parliaments one on one on which the parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of relations between the two countries, as well as exchanged views on the prospects for the growth of bilateral inter-parliamentary interaction . Both speakers emphasized the importance of the first three-star meeting of the chairmen of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey and the signed Baku Declaration.

Chairman Milli Majlis noted that this is the first official visit of Asad Kaiser to Azerbaijan as the head of the Pakistani Parliament. The first three-sided meeting of the leaders of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey is significant from a historical point of view.
Sahib Gafarov pointed to extensive cultural and humanitarian relations of the two countries as a factor of even more rapprochement of their peoples. Socio-humanitarian projects implemented in Pakistan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the first vice-president of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, were emphasized. For these good cases, Mehriban Aliyev in 2015 was awarded the highest Order of Pakistan “Hilal-E Pakistan”.
Speaker also touched the joint visit of the chairmen of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Pakistani parliaments in Shushu and Fizuli. The members of their delegations saw what historical victory Azerbaijani soldier produced in the fields of battles who lasted 44 days of the Patriotic War.
The speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament highly appreciated the adoption of the National Assembly of Pakistan resolutions with the condemnation of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and on the civilian genocide committed to Armenia in the city of Khojaly.
Assad Kaisser with satisfaction responded to his meetings with official representatives of Azerbaijan, saying that Pakistan considers it very important to develop connections with Azerbaijan – friendly and fraternal state.
Guest congratulated Sahib Gafarov and the people of Azerbaijan with the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the results of the Patriotic War. According to him, the Pakistan approach to this issue is unambiguous: he always supported the right case of Azerbaijan.
Kaiser expressed the hope that the high-level political dialogue will have an impact on the economic, cultural and humanitarian sphere. The deepening of bilateral economic relations is the common interests of our peoples, there are ample opportunities to ensure success in energy, agriculture, tourism and the humanitarian sphere.
At the end of the meeting, Sahib Gafarov and Assad Kaisser signed a memorandum of understanding between the parliaments of the two countries.
