Baku: Armenia should look for roots of world in region, and not in Washington

In Yerevan, they must realize that the basis for the world is in the region, and not in Washington. This was stated by Assistant President Azerbaijan Hikmet Gadzhiev.

He recalled that Azerbaijan was the first to make the initiative to sign a peace treaty with Armenia.

“from Armenia, we expect clear ideas. Armenia is still looking beyond the region when it comes to a peace treaty. Instead of carrying here the agenda of the third parties, it is necessary to take responsibility for the region and promote negotiations on a peaceful the contract. The ball is currently at the gates of Armenia, ”said Gadzhiev.

He noted that, within the framework of the new realities that have developed in the region, Baku does not see any obstacles to signing a peace treaty with Armenia if Yerevan shows good will.

“For us, the war ended, a new status quo has arisen. The previous status quo was unacceptable, and the current one was based on international law. Therefore, there are no obstacles to signing a peace agreement,” said the presidential assistant.

Gadzhiev emphasized that Armenia should promote bilateral negotiations instead of trying to stir the third part in the situation in the region. “The doors remain closed due to the aggressive and aggressive policy of Armenia. If Armenia performs a positive agenda in the region, the relationship, of course, can be normalized,” he said.

He also noted that the fault for closing borders both with Azerbaijan and Turkey lies in Armenia itself. According to him, this situation has developed in the region as a result of the occupation and aggressive policy of Armenia. “The position of fraternal Turkey has always been that the normalization of relations with Armenia is possible if Armenia ceases the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, will refuse territorial claims to Turkey and Azerbaijan and, finally, will make a positive agenda of the day in the region,” Gadzhiev said.

He recalled that Azerbaijan and Turkey have always supported the normalization of relations and constantly sent Armenia positive messages. “But, of course, Armenia should evaluate the potential of the region itself and make an approach to solving its problems within himself,” concluded Hikmet Gadzhiev.
