France Ambassador Ann Buion was called on Friday to the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry.
According to diplomatic sources in Baku, the head of the diplomatic mission was asked to clarify reports of the recent meeting of France President Emmanuel Macron with representatives of the Dashnaktsutyun party and the Armenian lobby and statements replicated by individual media bodies in the context of this meeting. To the attention of the ambassador, it was brought that the French side must clarify in the statement attributed to Macron.
In case of confirmation of the words of the French leader, the adoption of the corresponding steps at the diplomatic level was not excluded in Baku.
In response, the ambassador said that she does not have information on this issue.
