The incident took place on April 8 from 23:35 to 23:45 local time.
The department clarified that fire was led from small arms in the direction of the settlements of Sadynlar, Husul, Malybeili and Dzhagazur of the Lachinsky district.
Azerbaijani army units adequate response measures were taken in these directions, added in the defense department.
