Azerbaijan guarantees the same, like Azerbaijan citizens, to citizens of Armenian descent who live in the liberated territories, said Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jaykhun Bayramov at a meeting of the Eastern Foreign Minister of the EU Eastern Partnerships.
“Azerbaijan also intends to integrate into its society of Armenian citizens living in the territories liberated from occupation, guaranteeing equal rights and freedoms with all citizens of Azerbaijan. In this context, the Azerbaijan Constitution provides an important legal framework,” said Bayramov.
The head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that there is “the need to encourage and support the process of expanding dialogue and contacts between the Azerbaijani government and local ethnic Armenians aimed at ensuring peaceful coexistence.
