Today, a telephone conversation of Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jayhun Bayramov, with an assistant to US Secretary of State on Europe and Eurasia Karen Donfrid, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, Karen Donfrid expressed concern about tensions on the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia, having encouraged both parties to de essay and peaceful settlement.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed Karen Donfrid about provocative steps taken by Armenia in recent days. The minister stressed that the responsibility for the aggravation of the situation in the region lies directly at the Armenian military-political leadership.
During the conversation, it was noted that Azerbaijan is ready to begin the process of delimitation with Armenia based on the principles of international law, but on the part of Armenia it was not given a response.
Parties also exchanged views on the implementation of tripartite statements and other issues of regional security.
