Azerbaijan since November 2021 began written negotiations regarding mineral deposits in Karabakh, including gold and copper-molibden fields, Foreign Minister Jaykhun Bayramov told reporters.
The minister said that the illegal exploitation of the aforementioned deposits intensified after the arrival of Ruben Vardanyan in Karabakh, who declared himself the “state minister” of the Karabakh separatists.
“For the last 2 months, intensive negotiations took place. In the period from December 3 to 10, specific results and arrangements were reached, and on December 10, representatives of Azerbaijan had to monitor the deposits. A group of provocateurs prevented this. During my telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Russia (Sergey Lavrov) I once again reminded him that Azerbaijan has published specific evidence on this issue over the past 2 years. Regarding the Lachinsky road, Azerbaijan undertakes that it guarantees the safe movement of citizens, goods and vehicles on it. There is an obligation of Azerbaijan in a tripartite statement on it.
