China is closely monitoring the situation with its two citizens detained in Ukraine on charges of trying to smuggle secret documents. This was stated by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Nin.
According to her, the situation is under control, and the charges put forward by Kyiv are checked.
“If we are talking about citizens of China, their legal rights must be properly protected,” Mao emphasized.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the detention of the Chinese, who, according to her, were engaged in espionage.
“The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two citizens of the People’s Republic of China in Kyiv, who tried to illegally remove the secret documentation for the Ukrainian missile system RK -360MC” Neptune “to China, -the SBU said in the Telegram channel.
This missile system was used to sink the Moscow cruiser, the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, in April 2022.
