On July 16, 2025, the first official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov to the kingdom of Thailand was held in history.
The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry held negotiations with the chairman of the National Assembly of Thailand Van Muhamad Nor Mathe. The discussion center is the development of trade relations, geopolitical instability and the need to combine efforts to overcome the challenges facing the international trading system.
Maxim Ryzhenkov noted the historical significance of the visit, emphasizing the strategic potential of Thailand as a reliable partner of Belarus in Southeast Asia. In the context of strengthening inter -parliamentary interaction, he transferred an official invitation to visit Belarus.
The chairman of the Nor Match confirmed the previously sent invitation for the head of the lower house of the Belarusian parliament, expressing the willingness to personally visit Belarus and promote the formation of a friendship group. He also noted the intention at the legislative level to promote the intensification of Belarusian-Tsyan relations.
During negotiations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Marita Sangiamphong, the parties focused on applied interaction – in the field of business and humanitarian contacts. Maxim Ryzhenkov invited Thai colleague to make a historical visit to Belarus.
Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Thailand kingdom of the creation of a joint Belarusian-Thai Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
