Belarusian Alexey Baga was appointed the new head coach of the Sumgayt football club. With a 40-year specialist signed a contract for two and a half years.
During the football career, Bug played for the Belarusian Bate and Dynamo (Brest), as well as for the Latvian “Daugavpils”. He became the champion of Belarus twice, won the country Cup.
Alexey began his coaching career in BATE, in which in 2011-2018 was an assistant to the head coach. In 2018, he became the head coach of the team. In the summer of that year, the champion of Belarus defeated the Karabakh champion (1: 0, 1: 1) in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League. True, in the group stage of the Chief European Cup of BATE, he did not make his way at that season, but continued to speak in the Europa League, where he reached the 1/16 final, losing the London “Arsenal”.
After Bate, Alexey Baga worked in Lithuanian “Zalgiris”, with whom in 2020 won the championship. He also headed the Kazakhstani Aktobe, and this year made the champion of the Belarusian club “Shakhtar” from Soligorsk.
