Berlin will transfer to Kyiv weapons in amount of € 2.7 billion

Germany will send a new batch of weapons and ammunition to Ukraine in the amount of 2.7 billion euros before a possible visit to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

According to the German news agency DPA with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic, Ukraine will receive 20 MARDER armored vehicles, 30 Leopard-1 combat tanks and 4 IRIS-T-SLM air defense systems.

The new armament batch for Kyiv will be the largest one-time support from Germany since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the agency writes.

To date, Germany provided Ukraine with weapons worth 2.75 billion euros.

The Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius emphasized that the new batch of weapons for Ukraine once again emphasizes the serious attitude of Berlin in the issue of assisting Kyiv.

“Everyone wants a speedy end of a terrifying war, which Russia wages against the Ukrainian people and which contradicts international law. Unfortunately, this is not yet visible. That is why Germany is ready to provide all possible assistance to Ukraine, as much as if it took time, ”the minister said.
