Biden against Russia’s recognition by a sponsor of terrorism

US President Joe Biden at a briefing in the White House expressed the opinion that Russia should not be recognized as a sponsor of terror.

Reuters writes that to the journalist’s question, whether Russia should be recognized as a sponsor of terrorism, Biden replied: “No.”

The US Congress Senate on July 27 adopted a resolution calling for the State Department to recognize Russia with a sponsor of terrorism. In the document, the reason for the corresponding decision is the events in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine. The call to bring Russia to the list to Washington was previously contacted by Kyiv. On July 28, a group of congressmen from both parties stated the intention to introduce a similar document for consideration by the House of Representatives.

On August 13, Moscow warned Washington that the recognition of Russia by the sponsor of terror will become a “point of no return”, and that the Russian Federation in this case can reduce the level of diplomatic relations with the United States or even break them.
