Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted the deputy chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, co -chairman of the intergovernmental commission Alexei Overchuk.
According to the presidential press service, the meeting noted that 2023 was successful in terms of the results of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation. The contacts of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin in the framework of the informal meeting of the heads of the CIS state in St. Petersburg were noted with satisfaction last December.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that economic cooperation has a wide agenda, in the coming period, plans for new directions in this area are provided.
“The increase in trade turnover by 17.5 percent, as well as the constant growth of freight and transit transportation, was regarded as a good indicator of our cooperation. The importance of signing a roadmap for the development of key directions of Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation for 2024-2026 was emphasized. The confidence is expressed that the visit of Alexei Overchuk will serve to expand the connections, ”the report said.
At the meeting, an exchange of views on issues related to the transport and logistics sphere, the promotion of the North-South transport corridor.
