Biography of New Minister of Culture

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to release Adil Gabil Ogimly from the post of First Deputy Director of the Center of Heydar Aliyev and, with another order, appointed him to the post of First Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan.

Adil Kerimly was born in 1979, in 1999 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Baku State University with a bachelor’s degree, and in 2001 received a master’s degree, Doctor of Philosophy rightfully. In 2012, he was appointed first deputy director of the Center of Heydar Aliyev. He led the cultural departments at Milan Expo, Dubai Expo and other international events, was the head of the organizational committee of the Azerbaijani pavilion at the exhibition of the achievements of the national economy in Moscow. He was also a member of the Heydar Aliyev working group for construction and restoration projects at the territories liberated from the occupation, days of Azerbaijani culture, an organized fund in a number of countries. He worked as a curator of cultural projects of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Germany, Great Britain, Italy and France. He was the head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the Eurovision Song Contest, and in 2012, when Baku hosted this competition, he was the head of the working group for preparation for the competition. During this period, he was a member of the Committee on Rights and Public Affairs of the European Broadcasting Union.
