The Ministry of Defense of Russia and Kyrgyzstan signed a strategic program of cooperation in the military sector for the period from 2026 to 2030. This was reported in the Russian military department.
As part of a visit to the Bishkek, Russian Minister of Defense Andrei Belousov met with Kyrgyz colleague Ruslan Mukametov. Belousov emphasized that Russia and Kyrgyzstan are connected by the general history and allied relations.
Discussing the situation in Central Asia, the minister noted a decrease in security levels in the region and the need for joint efforts both within the framework of the Organization of the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO) and bilateral relations to counteract the growing threats.
For his part, the Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan Mukametov noted the active development of military cooperation with Russia both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
During the negotiations, cooperation in the field of the military-industrial complex was also discussed. According to the results of the meeting, the parties signed a strategic partnership program in the military sector to 2026-2030.
