Blatter calls FIFA to remove Iran from World Cup

Iran’s national team should be excluded from among the participants in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after mass protests in the country. This opinion of the Swiss newspaper Blick was expressed by former FIFA President Joseph Blatter.

“Iran should be excluded from the World Cup,” Blatter said, adding that he would have done so if FIFA still led.

Blatter does not understand why the current president of FIFA Gianni Infantino does not occupy a clear position on the issue of Iran. Moreover, he believes that infantino lacks courage. The former head of FIFA believes that Infantino should listen to what people are now thinking about Iran. “But he doesn’t want this. Maybe he has problems with his ears,” he added.

The World Cup starts on November 20. The rivals of the Iranians in group B are the national teams of England, the USA and Wales.
