Blinken will meet with Lavrov for first time since beginning of war

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that he plans to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“I expect the coming days I will talk with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs for the first time since the beginning of the war,” he said.

According to an American official, he plans to discuss the possibility of releasing the US citizens of Paul Willian and Britney Grainer under trial and guardians in Russia. In addition, Blinken expects to raise the issue of a grain transaction.

At the same time, the Secretary of State emphasized that he would not conduct negotiations in Ukraine without the participation of Kyiv.
