Brazil has developed its own Covid-19 vaccine

Byomedical Institute Butanan in Brazilian Staff São Paulo is ready to start testing its own vaccine against Butanvac coronavirus infection, the start of the application of which is scheduled for July, reports Bloomberg.

Governor São Paulo João Doria said that the tests of the drug should begin in April, immediately after the approval of the regulatory authorities. After successful tests in May, it is planned to begin mass production of the vaccine. By July, Brazil expects to produce about 40 million doses of the drug.

At the Institute, Butanhan emphasize that the drug will be used primarily within the country, and then access will be opened for other states.

Nevertheless, manufacturers expect that the vaccine developed in Brazil will help overcome the virus in the third world countries.

According to Kowas, the test of the drug on animals was successful. He noted that the developed drug is safe. Moreover, it will be cheaper compared to existing vaccines. There is a possibility that for successful vaccination against COVID-19, only one dose of Butanvac can be enough.
