Bulgaria said that they would no longer negotiate with Gazprom

Bulgaria will not sign a new contract with Gazprom after the Russian company stopped supplying gas in April, violating the current agreement. This was announced on June 3 in parliament by Deputy Prime Minister Asen Vasilev, who is quoted by the Bulgarian publication Mediapool.

“Given the refusal to fulfill the signed contract, the only answer I can give is never,” Vasilev said, answering the question when the government resumes negotiations with Gazprom.

Vice Prime Minister emphasized that the contract was not terminated before the end of 2022, and the state company Bulgargaz regularly reminds Gazprom about the need to fulfill the terms of the agreement. Vasilev reproached the Russian company in unreliability. “When someone covers the gas, even if you pay and fulfill the contract, you cannot expect that the same person will not block your gas when you find yourself in a difficult situation. We have an unreliable partner who proved his unreliability,” – Said the Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria.
