California court ordered Tesla to pay fine of $ 1.5 million

The California court ordered Tesla, the main executive director of which is Elon Musk, to pay a fine of $ 1.5 million. The decision was made on the basis that the company did not comply with the procedures for storing and disposal of hazardous waste in service and energy centers of cars and at the factory.

The statement made by the California district prosecutor’s office reports that the complaint against the company in the San Hoakin region approves violations of laws on disposal, storage and management of dangerous waste.

Tesla, which supposedly did not comply with the law on hazardous waste in service centers, energy centers and at the factory, collaborated with the investigation and took measures to increase the level of compliance with the laws that prosecutors drew attention to, the statement said.

A settlement was reached between the parties, the company was obliged to pay 1.3 million dollars for fines, investigation costs, employees and 200 thousand dollars for waste audit.

District prosecutor San Hoakina Ron Freitas said: “Electric cars play an important role in the improvement of the environment, but it must be recognized that their production and maintenance leads to the formation of harmful waste”.

Tesla, which has about 57 service centers for car service and 18 solar power plants in California, produces electric cars in Fremont, San Francisco.
