Canada: fifth Catholic Church burned

The Catholic Church burned near the Canadian city of Edmonton (Alberta Province). The Canadian TV channel CBC reported on Wednesday.

It is noted that the religious institution caught fire at night. The fire began in the cellary of the church and quickly covered the entire building that burned out completely. During the extinguishing of the fire, about 50 inhabitants of nearby houses were evacuated. Police considers it arson, the investigation began, transfers TASS.

Earlier this month in the province of British Columbia as a result of arson, four Catholic churches were burned, which were located on the territory of the indigenous peoples of Canada.

Since the end of May, 1,148 nameless graves of minors were found in the territories of three former boarding schools for children of Indians. These news shocked the Canadian public, which demanded that the authorities hold such excavations in the territories of all former educational institutions for indigenous peoples, the last of which closed in 1996.
