A candidate from the Democratic Party, a Muslim Zaran Mamdani, who won the primaries of the mayor’s election in New York, criticized the bill “One Great Beautiful Law” adopted by the House of Representatives of the United States, which was previously promised in the pre-election campaign of President Donald Trump.
In the statement posted on the social network X, Mamdani called this bill “robbery”.
Mamdani said that the law was adopted in the interests of the wealthy layers of society.
“Trump and Republicans in the Congress are trying to carry out one of the largest robberies in the history of the United States. The so -called” one great beautiful law “is robbery. And it is pushed by the class of billionaires and politicians they put,” the politician emphasized.
After the US Senate approval, the House of Representatives also adopted a bill providing for the implementation of tax messages promised by President Donald Trump.
A document, called the “Big Beautiful” bill, was approved in the lower house of Congress 218 votes against 214.
For entry into force, the bill must be signed by President Trump.
Among the measures provided for by the document is an increase in tax benefits at the level of state and municipalities, the abolition of taxes from tips and overtime revenues, as well as the extension of the validity of tax messages introduced in 2017. >
Mamdani victory
According to preliminary results announced on the eve of the United States, a member of the House of Representatives from New York Zaran Mamdani won the primaries of the Democratic Party for the mayor of the city.
Mamdani scored 56% of the vote, ahead of his main opponent, a former Governor of New York, Andrew Kuomo, 12 percentage points.
In the event of victory in the elections that will be held on November 4, 33-year-old Mamdani will become the first Muslim and a native of South Asia to take the post of mayor of the New York.
