Before the start of the Kurban-Bayram holiday, the loading of tourist objects in Cappadocia, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, reached 90%. In the region, an influx of local tourists is expected, especially from June 5 (Arafa Day) until the end of the holiday weekend.
Member of the Board of the Association of Travel Agencies of Turkey (Türsab) Talip Aldemir told Anadolu that in the relatively calm month of June, this year is expected to have high activity thanks to the festive holidays.
“The season in Cappadocia opened in April. Until recently, hotel loading was about 50%, but on the eve of Kurban Bayram it reached 90%. We hope that the summer season of 2025 will be successful for tourism,” said Alemeir.
He added that Cappadocia offers an alternative to a beach vacation: tourists can enjoy air balloons at dawn, foot walks, Safari on ATVs and horse tours.
The head of the board of one of the companies organizing air balloons, Mehmet Dinler noted that the reservation level is a bright indicator of interest from local tourists. He emphasized the presence of a wide range of housing and activities for any budget:
“Since the holiday is short, tourists choose close directions. Already by the second day of Bayram, the filling in the region reaches 90%. This is also the last vacation before the end of the school year, which increases demand. In June, the prices for flights on balls are reduced, which makes them especially attractive for local tourists,” said Dinler
Tourist entrepreneur Ali Ryza Shenal from the village of Chavushin said that preparations for a rich festive period were completed in their hotels. According to him, the reservation began in a few months, and in recent days, activity has increased sharply.
“We made all the necessary preparations so that the guests were satisfied. Cappadocia was always the center of attraction – both for local and foreign tourists,” he concluded.
