Captive Russian military can remain in Ukraine

Several Russian servicemen expressed a desire to stay in Ukraine, fearing for their life upon returning from captivity. They stated this during a press conference, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

On Wednesday, March 9, one of them, Andrei Chebotarevsky, said that in Russia they are “and so they are already dead.”

“I was given the opportunity to call my parents and I was told that the funeral came to me. If we are exchanged, we will be shot by our own,” he said.

He also denied the information that only contract soldiers speak in the Russian army.

“The sedns are here, they are present at this table,” he said.

Another soldier, Evgeny Smirnov, said that “he was shocked when he was shown in captivity that the Russian army works on the territory of Ukraine.”

“Civilians live in bunkers, the army shoots old people. In Russia, I am either sent, or shoot me,” Smirnov said.

According to him, the number of dead among Russian servicemen has already reached 12,000 people.
