Caracas Accused US Of Intending To Turn Venezuela Into 51st State

Washington is seeking to make Venezuela the 51st US state. This was stated by the Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez.

“We will remain an independent republic. We will never become a state of another country. Our people will never obey the orders of a bunch of traitors and homeless bandits and a woman (opposition leader Maria Corina Machado), who intends to turn the country into the 51st state,” the politician said during a speech in Caracas.

According to the vice president, Venezuela views Washington’s military buildup in the region as a threat to its national security.

Rodriguez added that the United States is also waging a “psychological war” against her country.

Earlier, Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said on state television that the country was preparing to repel a potential invasion.

At the end of August, the United States sent warships to the shores of Venezuela to fight drug cartels. The White House also did not rule out a ground operation.
