The number of deaths as a result of earthquakes in Turkey was 44 218.
This was reported by the Office for the Combating of Natural Disaster and Emergencies (AFAD) under the government of Turkey.
“According to the latest data, as a result of earthquakes in 10 provinces of Turkey, 44 of our citizens were killed. After earthquakes, 9 136 aftershok occurred,” the department said.
