Cause Of Accident Of Submarine Diving To Remains Of Titanic Was Recognized As An Engineering Error

The accident of the Titan submarine, which exploded during an expedition to the remains of the Titanic and resulted in the death of five people, was an engineering error.

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has published a final report on the incident with the OceanGate submarine Titan in 2023.

In The report notes that the engineering process for creating Titan was flawed, and the device did not meet strength requirements. It also stated that the company did not conduct sufficient testing and did not understand the true stability of the vessel.

Earlier, on August 5, a US Coast Guard report highlighted that the company’s safety procedures were woefully inadequate, and there were notable discrepancies between stated protocols and actual safety measures.
