According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire that caused a powerful explosion in the port of the Iranian city of Bandar-Abbas was a spark from a fork loader.
The head of the Iranian red crescent Pir Hossein Colivender spoke about the causes of the explosion in the port of Shahid Raji in the city of Bandar-Abbas Ormuzgan Province on the Bay of the Persian Gulf.
Having stated that the containers in the port were placed in a non -standard way, and the food and chemical products were stored side by side, Colivend said: “The first conclusions are such that the incident was caused by negligence and negligence, as well as the fact that the principles of safety and professionalism were not observed.”
Speaking about the reasons for the fire, Colivend said: “The fire in the port of Shahid Rajai began from the spark from the fork loader. If there was a fire engine, it could easily prevent this fire and its distribution.”
A strong explosion occurred at noon on April 26 in the port of Shahid-Radzhai, located on the coast of the Persian Gulf in the south of Iran. As a result of the explosion, dozens of people died.
Iranian officials rejected the possibility of sabotage. As a result of the incident, about 1,200 people were injured. The Minister of the Interior Iskander Mumini said that the cause of the explosion was “negligence”. Two port managers were detained – one of the state, and the other from the private sector.
