Central Bank predicts a decrease in inflation in Azerbaijan

According to forecasts, in 2023, with a favorable change in external factors, annual inflation in Azerbaijan will gradually decrease to unambiguous values. This statement was made by the chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kyazimov.

“Despite deflation at 0.1%in June, there is a trend in annual inflation. In particular, in June, 12 -month inflation was 14.2%, the average annual – 12.9%,” Interfax -Azerbaijan quotes The words of Kyazimov.

According to him, inflation is affected by the increase in prices for food products: “In particular, in June, a 12 -month increase in food prices amounted to 20.6%, average annual inflation – 12.9%.”

“According to our estimates, according to the results of 2022, the inflation rate will be lower than current indicators. Under favorable conditions in foreign markets in 2023, inflation can be at a single -digit level,” added the head of the Central Bank.
