Chavushoglu: A meeting in Vienna offered Armenia

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlyut Chavushoglu said that the initiative of the second meeting of Turkish and Armenian special representatives in Vienna proceeded from the Armenian side.

“Armenia wanted Vienna. They offered to meet or in Austria, or in Switzerland. In 2009, there were already unsuccessful negotiations in Geneva, so it was decided to meet in Vienna,” said Chavushoglu.

Turkish Foreign Minister also said that Ankara officially invited the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, which will be held on March 11-13 of this year, Armenia Mirzoyan Foreign Minister and Country Special Representative for Ruben Rubenan’s Normalization.

“Confirmation of their participation in the forum has not yet been received,” added Chavushoglu.

Recall that the next meeting of special representatives on the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations will be held on February 24 in Vienna. The first meeting between the parties took place on January 14 of this year in Moscow.
