Chavushoglu and Lavrov phoned New Year because of Syria

Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov phoned the Turkish colleague Mevlyut Chavushoglu to discuss the interaction of the two countries as part of the settlement of the situation in Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said today.

“The ministers exchanged New Year’s congratulations and discussed plans for cooperation between foreign policy departments for 2023, including further coordination of steps to assist Syrian settlement,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Three days ago, the first Russian-Sturctia-Syria negotiations at the level of ministers of the defense took place in Moscow. The leaders of the defense departments of the three countries discussed joint work to combat terrorist organizations in Syria and the problem of refugees.
