China: In Trade Negotiations With United States, Progress Has Been Reached

China and the United States over the past two days have held a professional, rational, in -depth and frank exchange of views. This was stated by a representative of China at international trade negotiations and Deputy Minister of Commerce Lee Chenggan, whose words quoted Sinhua.

Both parties agreed on the fundamental framework of the implementation of the consensus reached by the heads of two states during their telephone conversations on June 5, as well as in negotiations in Geneva, Lee Chenggan said.

According to him, there is hope that the progress achieved at the London meeting will help strengthen the trust between China and the USA and the further sustainable and healthy development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The meeting will also bring positive energy to global economic growth, added a Chinese official.

The new round of negotiations initiated by the United States and China in order to resolve the aggravated trade tension caused by a mutual increase in duties, was held in London, the capital of Great Britain, June 9-10.

The American side at the negotiations was represented by the Minister of Finance Scott Immotrot, Minister of Trade Howard Lutnik and trading representative Jamison GRIR, and Chinese – Deputy Prime Minister KNR HE Lifen, Minister of Commerce of PRC Van Wantao and Lee Chenggan.
