China introduces “health passports” for tourists

China is introducing an international health certificate program for travelers. It was officially launched by the local messenger Wechat, Interfax reports, citing the consular department under the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

“In the not too distant future, the Chinese version of the international health certificate for tourism will promote healthy, safe and orderly communication between people from different countries and will become a reliable guarantee for Chinese citizens traveling the world,” the message says.

The certificate will contain information about the presence or absence of COVID vaccination in its owner, as well as the results of tests for IgG antibodies. Any institution will be able to obtain the necessary information by scanning the QR code.
