The Chinese manufacturer of Weichai engines stopped the supply of gas engine for KamAZ due to the risk of secondary sanctions. Russian media write about this.

Gas engines from China were put on gas -engine models of the K4 generation tractors, on dump trucks on methane and on Nephas buses. Also in Russia, KamAZ and WeICHAI have a joint venture producing industrial and ship engines.

Sources claim that the Chinese authorities warned the corporation about the risks of working with Russian companies that fell under Western sanctions. The termination of deliveries violated the plans of the Russian manufacturer to produce new car models.

“The absence of such a partner as Weichai can greatly harm Kamaz. In Russia, there is a state -owned fuel development program for 19 billion rubles. It is bad that KamAZ for the sake of implementing this program has not been able to make at least two families of gas engines. Now the manufacturer puts under The threat is the implementation of this state program, ”an independent consultant for the auto industry Sergey Burgazliev commented on the situation.

Previously, KAMAZ fell under Western sanctions, after which he faced a deficiency of American Cummins engines, German ZF gearboxes and Bosch fuel equipment.
