CIA head for first time on public visit to Libya

The head of the US Central Intelligence Directorate (CIA) William Burns on January 12 arrived on a visit to Libya, meeting Tripoli with the country’s prime minister Abdulhamid Dbeyboy. This was reported in social networks by the government of Libya, posting a joint photograph of Burns and Dbeyba.

“During the meeting, Berns emphasized the need to develop economic cooperation and cooperation in the field of security between the two countries, referring to the stability and growth that Libya has observed recently,” the statement said.

CIA, which usually does not announce such visits, refused comments.

“Libya Prime Minister confirmed that the purpose of the visit was to stabilize our country and support it at the international level for the election,” follows the government’s message.

Anadolu reported that after negotiations with Dbeyboy, the director of the CIA flew to the east of the country, to Bengham, where he met with Caliphi Haftar.

This is the first visit of a senior American official Biden administration to Libya, says Al Hadath Arab TV channel.
