Citizens of Sri Lanka were detained on Azerbaijani-Iranian border

“Citizens of Sri Lanka were detained, who tried to illegally move from Azerbaijan to Iran.” This is stated in the message of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.

The incident occurred on Thursday, September 15. On the territory of the border outposts of the Goradiz border detachment, the GPS border troops, located near the village of Birinji Shakhsevyan, Baylagansky district, while trying to cross the state border of Azerbaijan in the direction of Iran, four Sri Lanka citizens were detained.

During the investigation, it was found that they intended to move to one of the European countries, crossing the state border of Azerbaijan to Iran, and from there to Turkey.
