Violent clashes broke out in the Syrian province of Raqqa after members of the terrorist organization YPG (the Syrian wing of the PKK) attacked the positions of the Syrian army from territories under their control.
As reported by the Syrian TV channel Al-Ikhbariyya, PKK/YPG militants operating in Syria under the name Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) attacked the positions of the Syrian army in the Madaan region in the eastern part of the province Raqqa.
Intense fighting broke out between the Syrian army and the PKK/YPG terrorists. In response, Syrian troops opened artillery fire on the positions of PKK/YPG militants.
According to local sources, several Syrian army soldiers were killed as a result of the attack.
