Coal crisis in Russia: output is seen in Azerbaijan

Since the beginning of the year, Kuzbass enterprises shipped 12.94 million tons of coal in the eastern direction, this is 18 percent less than planned. Including in March, 4.3 million were supplied, which is 0.5 million less than a year earlier. Such numbers called the Minister of the Coal Industry of the Kemerovo region Oleg Tokarev, reports RBC.

According to him, the situation with the removal of coal has already become critical. Calculate transportation by the end of the year with a high probability will not work, and this is fraught with the failure of contractual obligations, fines from buyers and, as a result, a serious loss of income companies. If the situation is not solved, the rods threaten the loss of markets.

A source in a large Russian coal company confirmed that the volumes of unrefined coal throughout Russia increased at times compared with the same period last year. The Kemerovo region comes almost 60 percent of coal mining, so problems in the region are distributed to the entire industry.

The main difficulty with export is the lack of capacity of the eastern landfill (Baikal Amur and Trans-Siberian highway). Against the background of problems with logistics arising after the RF invasion of the Russian Federation, loads of intraartensian production are used by the priority on the railway, the goods and raw materials for continuous production are explained in the “Russian railways” special attention is paid to the supply of housing and communal services. At the same time, the BAM, and Transsib, added a source, already operate at the limit of possibilities.

Meanwhile, Russian exporters are offered to Russian exporters as an alternative to increasing transportation on alternative areas, for example, through the border crossing of Samur to Azerbaijan or through the ports of the Caspian Sea.
