Coast of Abu Dhabi found large native gas deposits

National Oil Company Abu Dhabi (ADNOC) announced the detection of a large field of natural gas on the shelf Abu Dhabi, whose reserves can reach from 42.5 to 56.6 billion cubic meters.

TASS with reference to the press release of the company reports that the opening of the field was made during the drilling of an exploration well on block 2, the development of which is carried out by an international consortium within the Italian ENI and Thai PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (Pttep) within concession agreement with ADNOC. It is noted that this is the first discovery of gas reserves on the shelf Abu Dhabi, where exploration work is conducted since 2019.

The area of ​​block 2, located north-west of Abu Dhabi, is about 4 thousand square meters. km. ADNOC estimates its reserves of several billion barrels of oil and tens of billions of cubic meters of natural gas.
