Commandant hour has been introduced in Kirkuk against background of protests of DPK supporters

In Iraqi Kirkuk, a commandant hour was introduced against the backdrop of protests of a group of supporters of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan (DPP), requiring the opening of the Erbil-Kirkuk highway.

The Kirkuk police called the townspeople not to leave the house at the commandant hour.

The demonstrators blocked some roads and burned tires in the Rakhimava area, where the Kurds live mainly.

Promotion participants demand the return of the DPK building, which was used by the party until 2017. Locals, in particular Arabs and Turkman, opposed this decision and blocked the Erbil-Kirkuk highway.

At the same time, the action of the inhabitants opposing its transfer of the DPP.
