Commander of Navy Germany resigns because of his statements

Commander-in-Chief of the Navy of Germany Vice Admiral Kai-Ahim Schenbach filed on Saturday to resign after the statements that the Crimea never returns to Ukraine, writes the BILD newspaper.

According to information, Minister of Defense of Germany Christine Lambrecht and General Inspector Bundeswehr Eberhard Tsorn accepted the resignation.

Earlier, Schenbach expressed the opinion that Crimea would never return to Ukraine. These statements caused irritation in the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The head of the Navy itself has already regretted in connection with the statements made. The commander said that these words reflect only his personal opinion, which he adhered to at that moment, and not the position of the German government.
