The Minister of Culture of Ukraine Alexander Tkachenko is unhappy that the team of the Kyiv National Music Academy refuses to immediately remove the name of Tchaikovsky from its name.
Alexander Tkachenko said that he was “disappointed” with the decision of the collective of the Kyiv National Music Academy to postpone the issue of excluding the name of the Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky from its name.
Tkachenko recalled that the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada and others related to the institution of the institution was recommended to remove the name of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
“The question is not even whose name should be this institution, this is a question of markers with which we denote our educational and cultural space,” writes the Minister of Culture of Ukraine.
