On Wednesday, October 29, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Chairman of the Senate of the Romanian Parliament Mircea Abrudian. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
Mirchu Abrudyan congratulated the head of state on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and, in this context, the signing of a declaration in Washington, the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He expressed the hope that this will serve to ensure peace and development in the entire region.
Stressing that Azerbaijan and Romania are friendly and partner countries, the guest stated that there are ample opportunities for further development of cooperation.
The Chairman of the Senate of Romania noted the importance of inter-parliamentary relations, including interaction in international parliamentary institutions, in terms of the development of bilateral relations.
Speaking of promoting the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev noted the historical significance of the successes achieved in this direction for the entire region.
During the conversation, the importance of the agreement signed in Bucharest with the participation of Azerbaijan, Romania, Georgia and Hungary on the project for the construction of an electric cable along the bottom of the Black Sea was emphasized, its importance was touched upon in terms of the export of renewable energy resources of our country and the countries of the Central Asian region to European markets.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Romania in various fields.
