The National Veterinary Laboratory of Belgium discovered Coronavirus in two hippidts from the zoo in Antwerp. According to experts, this is the first-known case of infection of these animals by coronavirus, writes the newspaper Het Nieuwsblad.
Have a two hippopotamus: imani (14 years old) and Hermin (41 years). Animals have no symptoms, except for a runny nose. According to the employee of the zoo, hippos feel good and staying on isolation.
It is not clear how hippos is infected: the building where they live is closed to visitors, and testing to coronavirus at the staff of the zoo showed a negative result.
