Court did not satisfy complaint of Eldar Gasanova on sentence

In the Baku Appeal Court, the appeal complaint of the former emergency and authorized Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina Eldar Hasanova was considered.

According to Haqqin.az, Hasanov’s appeal at a court session, chaired by the judge Elmara Ragimov, was not satisfied, the verdict of the court of first instance was left in force.

Recall, in the course of financial inspections, reasonable suspicions appeared that the ex-ambassador of Azerbaijan in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Prosecutor General Eldar Gasanov made the inappropriate spending of a large amount of budget funds, and also made other violations of laws. Eldar Hasanov was detained on August 13, 2020 as a suspect. He was charged to the following articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan: 179.3.2 (assignment or waste committed in large amounts), 193-1.3.2 (legalization of cash or other property acquired by a criminal path, committed in large amounts), 308.2 ( The abuse of authority, entailed grave consequences), 308-1.1 (non-use of the state budget for appointment), as well as under Article 313 (official fraud).

The verdict of the Baku court in the grave crimes of Hasanov was sentenced to 10 years in prison. According to the sentence, the arrested property of the accused was also confiscated.
