Crown Prince Kuwait Sheikh Al-Ahmed al-Sabah announced the dissolution of the National Assembly (parliament), the composition of which was restored by the decision of the Constitutional Court in March 2023.
“Following the provisions of the Constitution and respecting the will of the people, we decided to dissolve the 2020 national assembly, which was restored by the Constitutional Court, and hold universal elections in the coming months,” said AS -Sabakh, whose words quoted the Kuna.
According to the Crown Prince, the elections will be followed by political and legal reforms that will be aimed at overcoming disagreements between the government and parliament, will avoid abuse of the legislative and executive branch, as well as ensure the independence of the judicial system.
