CSTO meeting will be held without Ohanyana

The Special Investigation Service of Armenia has banned the former Minister of Defense and the leader of the Parliamentary faction “Armenia” Seyran Yoganyan to fly to St. Petersburg to participate in the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CSTO. This was reported by the faction on the site, RBC quotes it.

In the report of the faction, it is noted that Ohanmen and the other opposition deputy Armen Gevorkian have established contacts with foreign partners of Armenia, but they are “simply prohibited to submit Armenia in international organizations.”

At the end of September, the court did not allow Gevorkyan to Strasbourg to the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, then passed “Armenia Today”.

SCS suspects Ohanyana in the embezzlement of property in a large scale – 1.046 billion Armenian drams, when he headed the Ministry of Defense of the Republic. An article initiated against him (paragraph 1 of Part 3 of Art. 179 of the Criminal Code of Armenia) provides for the maximum punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to eight years.
