CSTO said that there was a danger of confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The events of the current year showed that the organization of the collective security agreement (CSTO) must optimize the mechanism of response to crisis situations, said Valery Semerikov, Deputy Secretary General of the CSTO, whose words are given by Russian media.

According to Semerikov, the current period of transformation of the world order has become the most serious test for strength for the CSTO states. The West pushes Kyiv to aggravate the conflict, despite all the losses of the Ukrainian side, he believes.

Semerikov claims that other foci of tension in the CSTO zone are also supported and are also heated. Thus, the Deputy General Secretary of the CSTO believes, the danger of escalation and confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, remains.
